Two community projects around Lisson Green came together for a dinner party with music at St Paul’s Church, Marylebone on the evening of 2 March.

The Lisson Green Over 50s Club and FoodCycle Marylebone joined forces for the evening, attended by more than 60 people.

Councillor Aziz Toki came along to launch the joint event, which was his brain-child, encouraged by members of the community who participate in both groups.

Thanks to the Ward Budget, the party had live music performed by Wraggle Taggle as well as an extra special FoodCycle meal, with soup, pasta, pizza, salad and up to three deserts.

It is a near-miracle that anyone could walk after all that food, but some guests even danced before the party was over.

It was such a tonic for the community to be able to enjoy a party again after such a long time.  It went so well, possibly it will be the first of many combined events for the Lisson Green Over 50s Club and FoodCycle Marylebone.

Every Wednesday evening, at St Paul’s Church Centre, starting at 6:00, FoodCycle Marylebone welcomes anyone who wants a hearty vegetarian meal and good company.
