Maida Vale’s three Labour councillors – Geoff Barraclough, Rita Begum and Nafsika Butler Thalassis – have joined local residents to oppose plans for a new, very large set of telecoms equipment on top of Oak Tree House on Delaware Road.

The proposals put forward by Walden Telecom on behalf of Vodafone are being resisted by the Oak Tree House Residents Association and also by the residents of Delaware Mansions who have submitted a petition to Westminster Council.

Councillorr Geoff Barraclough said: “The proposed mast is ugly and will be visible from a very wide area around Oak Tree House. We do need better mobile coverage but this proposal is not acceptable in the Maida Vale Conservation Area.”
