Expansion and improvement of the network of EV charge points in Westminster is continuing.

Last year we increased the number of EV chargers by nearly 1,000. Once roll-out completes in the autumn there will be well over 2,200 resident charging points in Westminster providing a ratio of 1 charge point to every 3.5 resident operated EVs in the City.

We are also upgrading the network of fast and rapid EV chargers from a 7kW output to 22 kW’s. This will result in a net increase in the network of publicly available fast chargers from 155 to nearly 230, with around 75% of the network operating at 22kW.

Once these programmes are completed there will be nearly 2,500 EV charging points on the highway in Westminster – the highest amount of charging points in the UK.
