Labour Westminster is delighted to celebrate the official launch of the Lilestone Street Community Hub. This is a new space where residents can drop in, whether they are looking for support from the Council or a voluntary organisation, an opportunity to take part in a health and wellbeing activity, or to connect with their neighbours.

The Hub provides a broad, accessible range of activities and services tailored to residents of all ages, from arts and cultural sessions to youth workshops, financial advice, health sessions, family programmes and drop-ins, and activities for people with learning disabilities.

This Hub was designed with over 400 local residents, in partnership with voluntary organisations and service providers across Church Street through workshops, door-knocking, street engagement and open conversations.

Lilestone Community Hub’s programme is delivered by partners including Mosaic Trust, Paddington Development Trust, London Tigers, Marylebone Bangladesh Society, Pursuing Independent Paths (PIP) Open Age, Citizens Advice, and many others reflects the priorities raised through local engagement: strengthening community pride, improving access to support, creating welcoming shared spaces, and expanding opportunities for skills, training and wellbeing.

Labour’s manifesto committed it to opening Community Hubs across the City to do more to support the health and well-being of residents in the areas that need it most. Lilestone Street Community Hub is the most recent to open, following The Exchange in Ernest Harris House (operated by North Paddington Food Bank) on Elgin Avenue, Hubs at Charing Cross and Victoria Libraries. The Brunel Community Hub in Westbourne will open on 13th December.

Councillor Cara Sanquest, Cabinet Member for Communities, said:

“The Community Hub at Lilestone is part of our mission to tackle deep health and social inequalities in Westminster. Our aim is simple: residents should be able to drop in somewhere near home and get the support they need, without navigating complicated systems or multiple buildings.
