Labour’s Action On Housing – Supporting Residents

Your Councillors have been supporting residents with housing issues, such as repairs, major works and supporting residents with homelessness applications. Under the new Labour administration, we have established the housing improvement plan, for too long there has been an under investment in Housing under the former administration. We recognise the importance of ensuring our residents have safe and secure homes.

The housing improvement plan was set up in April to deliver a step change in the delivery of housing services, we have identified the need to create more capacity and focus at a senior level to drive and lead the positive change in housing services.

The improvement in housing is a priority for the Council and has the support and involvement of the entire Cabinet and Executive Leadership Team. The hard work and dedication of staff across the housing service is recognised, and the focus will be on enabling all relevant teams to deliver the best possible services to residents and communities.  The experience and feedback received from residents and staff will be central to the improvement journey.

Farewell PC John Donaldson

Pimlico South Labour Councillors said goodbye to PC John Donaldson last week.

John has worked in Pimlico for 8 years – keeping residents safe and helping the most vulnerable. He’s a pillar of the local community and will be sorely missed.
We now look forward to working with John’s replacement to continue his fantastic work and ensure Pimlico remains a great place to live.

Chichester Road Sign

Pimlico South Councillors have worked with Council Officers to replace the Chichester Road Sign after it was damaged.

The sign on the corner of Chichester Street and Claverton Street was damaged and defaced. It has now been replaced by a new sign.

Dolphin Square

Pimlico South Councillors and our Parliamentary candidate Rachel Blake and Cllr Jason Williams have been supporting Dolphin Square residents about planning applications for the tennis courts and riverside areas as well as on going S21 notices being issued by the landlord.

We are continuing to lobby for residents and ensuring their concerns are taken up with the landlords.
