Dear Pimlico Resident,
It’s been a busy month in Pimlico South. Summer may have arrived, but there is no holiday for tackling the issues and dealing with the concerns and casework that is important to residents.
We are pleased to share our successes with you, and update you on progress of ongoing issues below.
As ever, please get in touch with your local Pimlico South councillors if we can be of any help. Our contact details and surgery times are at the bottom of this email.
Supporting Tachbrook Estate Residents
We continue to have concerns about maintenance and repairs issues on the estate and Peabody’s response to residents’ concerns. Cllr Williams called for the Council’s Environmental health team to investigate when one resident had sewage flooding into their property. He said “Pimlico South Councillors have been working with residents on a range of concerns and welcome Peabody’s commitment to engage more and invest in the estate but there are clearly issues with residents’ confidence that their voices are being heard and acted on.”
Dolphin Square
After residents raised concerns about works in Dolphin Square Gardens, Cllr Williams spoke to the Council’s arboriculturist team who visited the square and met with the contractors. The work was related to floods in the building’s car park and there was an excavation next to an Indian bean tree. Contractors have agreed to work with the Council on any further works and the work was inspected to ensure there was no damage to the trees. Council officers also visited to inspect work on the Japanese gardens.
Pimlico Gardens
Following the initial consultation on the future of Pimlico Gardens last year we have been working with officers to ensure residents are kept fully updated and involved in decision making. There are update sessions organised which are in-person drop-in sessions on Tuesday 5th July at Pimlico Library First session 11.30am – 1.30pm and the Afternoon session 4pm until 6pm. The consultation aims to make improvements to the gardens so they continue to be open to all to enjoy and we will continue to ensure residents’ voices are at the heart of the consultations.
