Westminster City Council is investing £500,000 into St Marylebone CE School in the latest round of funding from the Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (NCIL).

The Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) is a charge that local authorities place on new development to help fund the infrastructure needed to support local communities. A portion of the levy collected is designated as NCIL. Westminster City Council allocates NCIL funds through a public application process, which is open quarterly.

In the latest round, the St Marylebone CE School will be receiving £500,000 for its Healthy Children Project, which includes the construction of new dining facilities and a fitness suite.

The new kitchen and dining space will provide hot, nutritious meals to students, 25% of whom are eligible for Free School Meals. The addition of a dedicated fitness suite will further support students’ health and wellbeing and help tackle health inequalities.
