Joanna Camadoo-Rothwell, Labour’s candidate in the Vincent Square Ward by-election on Thursday 27th November, has welcomed Westminster Council’s investment in an extra graffiti removal vehicle to keep the area clean and tidy.
The latest Council investment is a new cleaning van with a generator and water tank dedicated to cleaning graffiti and deep cleaning of pavements in Vincent Square Ward and elsewhere in Westminster.
The Council runs three teams, seven days a week to tackle graffiti. Offensive graffiti is removed within 12 hours from the moment it is reported, and other types of graffiti are cleaned within three days.
Around 80 to 100 cleaning jobs are undertaken every week by these teams, totalling around 400 each month.
Joanna said:
“Labour Westminster is committed to keeping Vincent Square Ward streets clean and safe.”
“Adding another deep cleaning vehicle to our fleet means we’ll be able to remove graffiti even more quickly. You can report graffiti on public property or street furniture to https://www.westminster.gov.uk/report-it “
This by-election has been caused by the sad death of Councillor Gillian Arrindell, the first Labour Councillor for Vincent Square Ward, who was elected in May 2022.
Joanna is continuing Gillian’s fine example of taking up residents’ concerns and getting things done for the local community. She lives locally and knows how to get things sorted for local people. Vincent Square Ward needs a strong voice for local people. If you vote for her, she won’t let you down.”
