Opening of the newly upgraded Forest School at Paddington Rec

Labour Councillors Cara Sanquest and Nafsika Butler-Thalassis were delighted to open the new sustainable classroom for the Forest School in the Forest Garden and Bluebell Glade at Paddington Recreation Ground.

The Forest School is so popular that expansion was needed to meet the demand from local schools. So far this school year, 3,000 children from 11 Westminster schools have visited and enjoyed the Forest School.

In addition to the improvements to the Forest School, Labour Westminster Council has also funded other improvements to Paddington Rec, including an £80,000 refurbishment of the gym and a £195,000 upgrade of the tennis courts.

Councillor Cara Sanquest, Cabinet Member for Communities, said:

“Paddington Recreation Ground is a fantastic, award-winning Westminster facility. I hope these upgrades not only encourage more residents to take advantage of what’s available but also enhance the experience for those who already use their local facilities. I’m so pleased that our new expanded Forest School will means that local children will be able to explore learning outdoors.”
