Investing in communities
Investing in our communities
If re-elected Labour will invest in community centres, hubs, libraries and leisure centres and the community activities that enrich people’s lives.
The previous Conservative administration provided little support to the voluntary sector and cut all council funding for youth clubs.
Labour restored funding for youth clubs and created 6 new community hubs across the city. We have invested in improving our leisure centres and have upgraded many of our libraries, including creating the new West End Arts Library.
If re-elected we will:
- Protect our community centres, libraries and complete the transformation of the Pimlico hub
- Continue to support the voluntary sector with capital investment, long-term grants and project-based funding to deliver the support our communities need.
- Keep funding our cost of living advice and support services
