Westminster Labour was shocked to discover that, according to data published as recently as 18th of March, Westminster borough has the lowest vaccination rate in the country. Specifically, Central London CCG which covers most of Westminster borough has the lowest vaccination rate in the country, while West London CCG, which covers the rest of Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea, has the second lowest.
For example, in the Central London CCG area (Westminster), only 60.3% of over 80 year olds have been vaccinated, only 62.8% of 70-74 year olds have been vaccinated and only 58.6% of 65-69 year olds have been vaccinated. In Stoke on Trent, for example, these figures are 100%, 94.6% and 92.5%.
Westminster Labour urges the Conservative-run Westminster council to do everything possible to increase the vaccination rate at the heart of London.
Labour has welcomed the positive news a ‘pop-up’ vaccination clinic has been arranged by local doctors for the Beethoven Centre on Third Avenue, W10 4JL this Sunday afternoon, which might be more convenient for residents living in Queens Park or Harrow Road to reach compared to the clinics at Lords’s cricket ground or St Charles hospital.

Councillor Nafsika Butler-Thalassis, Labour Deputy Leader and member for Maida Vale said:
“It’s extremely worrying for Westminster residents to hear that we have the lowest vaccination rates in the country. All possible barriers to vaccination need to be looked at from vaccine supply, transport, location of vaccination clinics, information and communications and vaccine hesitancy. I really hope Conservative-controlled Westminster Council will be able to turn this around soon.”
