
Labour Councillors have welcomed Westminster Council’s decision to lift its suspension of bidding for all housing lettings during the Covid-19 pandemic and to make direct offers to tenants where there is an emergency as follows;
1 – Those fleeing domestic abuse/violence
2 – Those with a medical need to move (and are not on the Government’s vulnerable list with recommendations to remain at home)
3 – Where a property is uninhabitable and requires urgent repairs
4 – Statutorily overcrowded (to mitigate the impact if they need to self-isolate)
5 – Applicants in Renewal areas
