Labour Councillors have successfully called on the Council to remove a number of Airnbnb key safes chained to the railings at Vincent Street playground.
Residents had tweeted: “Surely a line is drawn when there are Airbnb lockbox keysafes attached to our kiddies playground in Vincent St. Why doesn’t Westminster Council just use bolt-cutters?”
Labour Councillor Paul Dimoldenberg immediately asked the Council to act and received a speedy response from the Head of Parks:
“I’ve asked the City Inspectors to remove these locks asap. I’ve also asked them to speak to Housing Estate team to monitor and remove as they come across anymore.”
The next day residents tweeted:
“Thanks to all those who have helped to move this forward. The action taken today by inspectors is much appreciated.”
