Former Conservative Westminster Council Cabinet member Daniel Astaire has joined the chorus of residents, businesses and Labour Councillors who are angry at the failure of Westminster Council’s ‘Report It’ app to deal with the volume of complaints about overflowing bins and dumped rubbish all over Westminster.
In a tweet, former Councillor Astaire, who lives in Bayswater, posted a picture of overflowing bins and the comment
“Forget report it. I have done that more than you can imagine. Just solve it. Here is today’s picture.”
Councillor Paul Dimoldenberg, Labour’s Environment and City Management spokesperson said:
“Daniel Astaire’s experience is, sadly, only too common. Now even former Conservative Cabinet members are fed up with the Council’s performance and record on clearing up overflowing bins and dumped rubbish. Let’s hope the promised new improved reporting system will sort out the mess across Westminster’s streets.”
