Westminster Labour Councillors have welcomed the formation of the All Party Group on the Short Lets Sector, chaired by Karen Buck MP (Westminster North), which has its Inaugural meeting on Tuesday 23rd April at 5pm, Macmillan Room, Portcullis House.

The new All Party Group will bring together MPs of different parties with the Mayor’s Office, the Short Lets Association, Airbnb, Residential Landlords Association and others.

Karen Buck MP said:

“This is an issue which is affecting a growing number of people in many towns and cities across the UK. We need to get a wide spectrum of interests involved in the work of the Group. “

“The first meeting of the All Party Group will review the scene overall and consider ways of taking the public policy debate forward, balancing the competing interests of owners and visitors wanting to enjoy the sharing economy, neighbours wanting the quiet enjoyment of their homes and the need to protect the supply of residential accommodation.”
