Buses in Hayes Place outside nursery

Westminster Labour has launched a petition calling on Westminster Council to move the bus stand on Hayes Place, NW1 which is in front of the nursery school entrance with immediate effect.

Labour says:

“We have double-decker buses stopping and starting their engines at this bus stop throughout the day. The invisible killer of air pollution is leading to over 9,000 premature deaths annually in London. And the latest research on the impact on young children, tells us it can lead to under-developed lung capacity by up to a third. With the No 2 Bus Stand right in front of the entrance of the nursery on Hayes Place, NW1, we hate to think what the health impact on the under 5’s at Little Elves Montessori Nursery and school children in the playground of St Edward’s Primary School will be.”

We have urged the Council to take action without further delay. You can sign the petition here
