We asked the City Inspectors to investigate the Kendal Street Car Wash where cars that use the car wash are regularly blocking the pavement for pedestrians, parking and idling outside permitted areas along the street and unnecessary noise. Going forward, the Car Wash management has agreed the following:
- The Car Wash will ask their customers to not block the pavement so that pedestrians can cross where cars currently block their access resulting in them having to step onto the road which is a safety hazard, especially to those with mobility issues and specific disabilities.
- The Car Wash will advise its customers to not park or idle in areas which cause parking infringements and advise them that Parking Marshals can issue fines if they ignore the advice.
- The Car Wash will consider signage outlining the above regarding responsible use of the pavement along with being aware of disturbing neighbours by excessive noise.
Westminster Council will continue to respond to illegally parked vehicles, idling, engine running unnecessarily, etc.
