Churchill Gardens

Asbestos has been found in the basements of Churchill Gardens. Here is the Council’s statement:
https://www.westminster.gov.uk/council-action-remove-asbestos-churchill-gardens

We have asked the Council to clarify whether leaseholders have to contribute to the cost of the asbestos removal. We are pleased the cost of the removal of asbestos is not going to be passed onto leaseholders.

Lupus Street

The graffiti on the shop shutters on Lupus Street has been painted over, thanks to Churchill Labour Councilors Andrea Mann and Shamim Talukder. We pushed the Council repeatedly until they took action to clean up these shutters – some of which are on businesses which are open; other on empty units.

At the same time, we are pressing the Council to do more about the empty business units on Lupus Street, many of which have been empty for far too long. We will continue to apply pressure and do all we can to make Lupus Street a vibrant, attractive parade for our local residents and businesses.

Cundy Street

We organised awell-attended meeting to assist residents and give practical housing advice on Grosvenor’s Cundy Street Quarter plans (background here http://www.churchilllabour.co.uk/grosvenor-cundy-street-quarter/).

And Dave Hill writes about Grosvenor’s plans for Cundy Street:
