We are continuing to support Dorset Square residents who want the National Coach stop to be relocated to a non-residential location. We also want the Council to take action to stop coach engine idling at this location.
We have written to the Baker Street Two Way team about this continuing issue:
“I am writing about the lack of a safe crossing for pedestrians at Gloucester Place (North side)/George Street – It is extremely dangerous and requires urgent action. Also, the crossing Gloucester Place (North side)/York Street is equally dangerous as it also has no pedestrian crossing lights. Astonishing as these junctions are so dangerous for pedestrians that sadly it is just a matter of time until a pedestrian is seriously injured or worse if nothing is done to improve safety. WCC is clearly putting the interests of traffic flow above those of pedestrians and this is shocking and unacceptable.”
We asked the Council to remove dumped rubbish from Wyndham Place.
We have asked the Planning Enforcement Team to investigate the short term lettings situation and have asked the Street Homeless Team to offer help to the rough sleepers:
“The block of flats on the street, Landward Court, is clearly being used for short term lets. In addition, rough sleepers use discarded bedding to construct a fully fledged bed to sleep in at night. We have complained numerous times to the reception staff at the block but this makes no difference. It keeps on being rebuilt. Can you do anything about this?”
We have also asked the Refuse Collection team to take action against those responsible for rubbish dumping.
We have asked the Housing Department to increase security for residents living at 7-15 Homer Row.
