Well done to residents in Star Street who designed and paid for the large signs on lamp posts warning of the fines for illegal dumping. This is a great example of community action which residents say is having an impact on the dumping situation

We have called on the Council to locate CCTV cameras at the corner of Star Street and Sale Place where the dumping is concentrated. We need to get tough with the illegal rubbish dumpers by using CCTV to identify those responsible, issuing fines and ‘naming and shaming’ those who dump rubbish on the street.
