Fire safety experts found a catalogue of problems at Victoria Coach station – one of Britain’s busiest transport hubs – and there was no evidence that an evaluation of the risks had taken place. The worrying issues included confusing fire escape notices which could mislead people stuck in a blaze, holes in the walls that could have caused a fire to spread and sprinklers which were out of action for more than two years – which could lead to a coach fire getting out of control.

Westminster Council has announced that it has ended the contract with Sanctuary Care to run care and nursing homes in Westminster. This decision follows on from the police investigation into deeply concerning issues about standards of care at Garside House near Vincent Square and the subsequent Care Quality Commission Report that found it to be Inadequate.
