Residents on the Milbank Estate will get some respite from the noise from the G.Network roadworks to install high speed fibre, thanks to the intervention of Labour Councillors who reported residents’ concerns.
Now an acoustic screen has been installed around the roadworks which, hopefully, will reduce some of the noise nuisance.
Milbank Estate residents had told Labour Councillors:
“I just popped out of my flat to find that fibre broadband roadworks have been set up directly outside, on Marsham Street near the junction with John Islip Street. Once again, as with the John Islip Street broadband works in October, residents have received no letter warning or informing them about what will be very disturbing noisy works. And noise is particularly an issue on this stretch as it’s a narrow road and the sound bounces between the two blocks.”
