We have asked the police to remove a long-standing abandoned commercial vehicle in Hugh Mews. Residents say:
“Hugh Mews is well-known to the police and local Councillors as an area of significant drug dealing. The presence of the van provides additional “cover” for dealers/buyers to congregate along the side of the van where they are less readily seen against the building on that side.
Graffiti was non-existent for years and years. About a month after the van was abandoned, extensive “tagging” graffiti was sprayed on a doorway adjacent to the abandoned van (which looks a wreck). After a few months, the Blue Cross Animal Hospital repaired the damage to their door. Can you get this abandoned commercial vehicle removed? “
We have asked the Council to investigate this issue:
“We have 2 large black bins for rubbish on the corner of Warwick Way and Alderney Street especially for household waste. With properties being sold frequently in Warwick Way, new owners employ builders, decorators to renovate their flats. Times I have gone to the bins with a small bag of household rubbish, I notice that there are carpeting, cement, pieces of wood plastic piping just being dumped in theblack bins. Builders do not seem to take any notice of signs that were put up.”
