Queen Mother Sports Centre
We have asked the Council to investigate this issue:
“Weekend cleaning is haphazard. Some management genius decided to save money by having the lifeguard staff do cleaning work, too. You will see the lifeguards polishing, sweeping, etc. during their shifts. The decision certainly wasn’t made to make the place cleaner.
Please insist that they use professional cleaners who will attend to issues throughout the day as the locker rooms and bathrooms are not properly maintained. There is a blocked drain immediately outside the shower area in the ladies’ swim locker room. It has been blocked for some time and is obvious to all who walk by it.
Last weekend, I wrote a complaint form about it and left it for he Centre Manager’s attention, as it literally stank. A week later, the drain is still blocked with vile murky water resting on its surface. It is not healthy, especially for toddlers who are attracted to play in puddles.”
Lillington and Longmoore Gardens
We presented a petition from residents at the last Council meeting calling on the Council to halt plans to privatise the estate gardening contract.
We are taking up long-standing repair issues on behalf of residents.
Dolphin Square – what you say
“I want to thank you and your team who have always stood firmly against the mammoth plans for Dolphin Square, setting out the case so well. If the plans were allowed, Dolphin Square would lose the protection of its conservation designation. The fabric and character of the Square would be destroyed and much of the beautiful listed garden demolished, including many mature trees. For five years, and probably for longer, the Square would be a building site with a constant stream of lorries bringing machinery and materials and causing congestion and pollution dangers to our neighbouring streets in Pimlico and to those who live here.”
