Labour Westminster Council is trialling colourful “Tulip Cycle Wands” along cycle lanes on Sussex Gardens to improve cyclist safety
The wands separate cyclists from motor traffic and bring this section of Cycleway 27 up to current safety standards – and they look pretty good too!
The trial will last for 24 months, during which time the Council will assess the effectiveness of the wands in terms of safety, public perception, maintenance, and overall aesthetic quality. The wands will also be compared with a neighbouring installation of standard segregation wands.
The consultation is open until 15 July. Find out more and give your views here: https://bit.ly/Tulip-Wand-Consultation and https://tulipcyclewands.com
The trial is an important part of Westminster’s ongoing commitment to enhancing cycling safety and supporting greener, more sustainable transport options across the city.
