Westminster Labour will deliver on 20mph roads

It has been an ongoing struggle for local residents to get Westminster Council to listen to their demands for safer streets, with Westminster Conservatives rejecting pleas for the introduction of 20mph zones on residential streets for many years, while our neighbouring boroughs all took this important step.

Finally, after years of Labour and community campaigning, Conservative-run Westminster Council has recently introduced 20mph zones near the city’s schools and is talking about extending these zones. However residents know Labour will deliver the 20mph limits swiftly on all our residential streets, where supported by local residents, that will protect pedestrians, cyclists and other drivers.

A Labour council will also work towards ensuring that more junctions are fitted with 'green man' phases to improve pedestrian safety.
