Your Churchill Labour Action Team is made up of Cllr Shamim Talukder, Cllr Jason Williams and Andrea Mann, who are all here to help.
Shamim Talukder is well-known across the ward for his community work and regularly works with young people on community projects. Churchill Ward is close to Shamim’s heart as he grew up in the area and attended Pimlico School. With a new young family, Shamim knows the importance of protecting important local services and has worked on many local campaigns including the campaign against the closure of Westminster Fire Station. Cllr Talukder sits on the Licensing Committee and is Labour’s spokesperson on Sports, Leisure and Arts.
Jason Williams is an experienced local community campaigner and a trustee of two local charities in Churchill Ward as well as a School Governor. Jason has been involved in the Post Office campaign, as well as working with residents on a range of issues including provision for young people. As a long-standing local resident, Jason knows how vital it is to work for the community. Cllr Williams sits on the Council's Business, Planning and Transport Policy and Scrutiny Committee and is Labour’s spokesperson on City transport.
Andrea Mann is a hardworking, enthusiastic local activist and campaigner. She has lived in the area for several years and joined the Churchill Labour Action Team in July 2017 – quickly gaining a deep understanding of the issues in Churchill Ward. As a professional writer, musician and digital creative, she is particularly passionate about creativity, arts and culture, and the benefits they bring to our lives and communities.
